Botticelli's Birth of Venus and Primavera are here, and they are the reason for most of the queue. So are Leonardo's Annunciation, Michelangelo's Doni Tondo, Caravaggio's Medusa and Bacchus, and a corridor of ancient Roman sculpture that most people walk straight past.
The building itself is worth attention: a long U of offices with the Arno framed at the end, which is one of the best pieces of urban design in Florence.
⛔ The queue for a ticket and the queue to get in are two different queues. Having a ticket does not put you at the front of the second one.
⭐ Late in the day is markedly quieter than the morning, and the light down the west corridor is better.
