It is a hillside, not a park: terraces, cypress avenues, an amphitheatre cut into the slope with an Egyptian obelisk in the middle, and a grotto full of dripping artificial rock with copies of Michelangelo's Prisoners set into it.
Because it climbs, it gives you views back over the city that most visitors never get — and unlike the hill on the other side, you are inside a garden while you look.
⚠️ There is very little shade on the upper terraces. In summer, go early or late.
⭐ The Bardini garden next door is smaller, less crowded and has the better single view.
