The Palatine Gallery hangs paintings the old way — floor to ceiling, frame against frame, arranged for effect rather than by date. There are more Raphaels here than anywhere outside the Vatican, and a room of Titians.
The building also holds the royal apartments, a costume and fashion museum, a treasury and a modern art gallery, which is more than one visit can absorb.
It is across the river, which alone thins the crowd noticeably.
⚠️ Do not try to do the Uffizi and the Pitti on the same day. It cannot be enjoyed.
